Whilst the main focus for treatment has been on Equine, Canine and Feline issues over the last 25 years – I have, in fact, used Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) to treated a huge range of species, for a wide variety of conditions
Laser Therapy is based on the researched, published and well documented principle that ALL cells, irrespective of who or what, they belong to, respond to light … activating the mitochondria within each cell.
Mitochondria are responsible for the production of Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) – this is the substance that gives a cell the energy to do it’s job. An important part of the successful production of ATP are biophotons – these help to fulfill the cell’s demand for energy, but are also crucial for inter-cellular communication.
When tissue is compromised, injured or stressed the demand for ATP increases, Low Level Laser Therapy helps supplement the supply of these much needed photons, thus assisting cells to function more efficiently and effectively … without masking or compromising their function – as is the case with some drugs.
